Lasso
A rebrand for Lasso, shaped by the idea that art and culture grow stronger when people come together.
Lasso is the Brussels platform for cultural participation and education, working to make art and culture accessible to everyone. After several previous collaborations, Lasso asked for a refresh of their visual identity.
The existing logo felt too corporate and no longer reflected Lasso’s connection to art and culture. The aim was to move closer to the arts while remaining open, friendly, and accessible to a wide audience. The new identity builds on the core idea behind the name Lasso: bringing people together. Where the previous logo consisted of three identical circles, the redesigned mark is a collection of shapes in different sizes, symbolising diverse groups, backgrounds, and perspectives coming together. Line work and typography subtly reference artistic practices. Groupings and compositions are used as graphic elements and frames for imagery, creating a flexible identity that works across formats and contexts. A fresh, diverse colour palette reinforces the inclusive tone, while the combination of Source Sans and a serif typeface adds to the diversity. The result is a warm, contemporary visual identity that feels cultural rather than corporate and supports Lasso’s mission to connect, inspire, and strengthen cultural participation in Brussels.
